Before you open the "VMWareWorkStation", please turn off the following "Windows Features"
control panel --> Programs and Features --> Turn Windows Feature On or Off

Open the "VMWareWorkStation", and try to press "Show or Hide the Library" and "Show or Hide the Thumbnail Bar".

Select "Typical(Recommended)"

Here is the place that we could set the "Maximum Disk Size" that the "Virtual Machine" would occupy

Please Select "Split virtual disk into multiple files"

If you select "Store virtual disk as a single file", that means
the "VMWareWorkStation" would generate only one "File" that represents your "Virtual Machine" in your "Virtual Machine Directory".
This kind of setting is no good for you to backup your "Virtual Machine" into other external hard drive.

If you select "Split virtual disk into multiple files", that means
the "VMWareWorkStation" would generate multiple "Files" that represents your "Virtual Machine" in your "Virtual Machine Directory".
This kind of setting is much easier for you to backup your "Virtual Machine" into other external hard drive.
Please select this setting.

If you click "Next" with the default setting,
then the "Virtual Machine" would have "only one partition" which is "C Drive".
There was a way that you could split the "C Drive" and generate another "D Drive" after the installation.
Please don't worry and select this setting.

If you want your "Virtual Machine" could have "multiple partitions" such as "C Drive, D Drive...etc",
Please click "New" to create other "partitions".
It is nice to have "multiple partitions" such as "C Drive, D Drive...etc" in the "Real Computer",
but it's not necessary for the "Virtual Machine".

It would take a while to "Install Windows", please take a rest for a few minutes.

After the "Windows installation process" was finished, then It would automatically restart your computer.

Snapshot

Have you heard about the "Norton Ghost" software?
After you installed the "Windows"
and then install some other "Software"
You also made some configurations.
You don't want to do that again if you reinstall the computer.
In this case, "Norton Ghost" is the software that could convert your current operation system with current configurations into an "Image File".
If there was anything happened,
you could just reinstall from that "Image File".
and then you don't have to install other "Software" again.
You also don't have to repeatedly make the same configurations.
That means you could keep all of your current configuration after you reinstalled from that "Image File",

"Snapshot" is like the "Norton Ghost Image File".
We could create a "Snapshot" to keep the current configurations before we did anything dangerous.
If there was anything happened,
we could reinstall the "Virtual Machine" from that "Snapshot"

If you want to back up your "Virtual Machine", you could just back up these two folders to external hard drive.
